TEETH CLEANING WITH FLOSS

The interdental spaces make up 30% of the total tooth surface. They are the ideal hiding place for bacterial plaque. Threading with dental floss is the best way to clean the spaces between your teeth. You should thread before brushing your teeth daily. In this way, the active ingredients contained in the toothpaste reach the entire tooth surface.

THE RIGHT FLOSS

Depending on the situation, there are suitable dental floss: Unwaxed dental floss, waxed dental floss and the so-called superfloss, which can be used well by children. We would be happy to advise you in our practice which product is best for you.

CORRECT HANDLING

Take a piece of thread about 50cm long and wrap the ends around your middle finger. There should be about 10cm left. Now stretch a 2 to 3 cm long piece with your thumb and forefinger and insert it at an angle into the interdental space with slow, saw-like movements. Over time you will get a feeling of gently overcoming the pressure point. We would be happy to show you the various flossing techniques in an appointment.
